EQUIPMENT SELECTION & PROJECT INTERFACES
Screw Systems Selected for the Full Operating Profile
A screw refrigeration system should be reviewed across the operating profile it will serve. Mechocool coordinates system selection around the required duty, load variation and available maintenance resources. The discussion begins with how the plant operates during production, holding periods and planned equipment outages.

Define the compressor selection basis
Start With the Operating Requirement
Provide the proposed refrigerant and operating conditions together with the calculated duty. Identify requirements that influence system arrangement, including future expansion or operation with one component unavailable.
Information to Share
- Evaporating and condensing design conditions
- Peak, normal and minimum operating loads
- Electrical supply and starting constraints
- Service access, machinery location and standby expectations
Coordinate control and supporting equipment
Capacity control may use compressor staging, mechanical regulation or speed control where supported by the selected equipment. The review must consider the supplier operating envelope and the connected evaporators. Oil management, heat rejection and protective controls are part of the system decision; a compressor selection by itself is incomplete.
Build a reviewable system package
An agreed package can include selection records, a system outline, an equipment schedule and a control narrative. Supplier documents should identify required auxiliaries and installation constraints. Before release, confirm who reviews detailed piping, electrical design and site safety requirements. Performance evaluation must use agreed operating points and measured conditions, not an assumed saving from compressor type alone.
