EQUIPMENT SELECTION & PROJECT INTERFACES
Cold Room Envelopes Coordinated With Daily Use
Panels and doors define more than the dimensions of a cold room. Joints, openings and floor connections all need coordinated details. Mechocool reviews the proposed envelope supply with the room layout and operating requirement so that the equipment and local construction teams work from compatible information.

Provide the room and access plan
Start With the Operating Requirement
Show the required clear internal dimensions and how people, pallets or handling equipment enter the room. Identify existing structures and any restrictions on assembly. Requirements for finishes and cleaning should be recorded before materials are proposed.
Information to Share
- Internal and external room conditions
- Wall, ceiling and floor arrangement
- Door openings, traffic frequency and handling equipment
- Penetrations, drainage interfaces and cleaning requirements
Resolve the important details
The review should identify panel joints, vapor sealing, door frames and interfaces with the floor. Door type and accessories need to suit the intended use. Structural support, fire performance requirements and local building approval are reviewed by the responsible qualified parties using the actual product documentation.
Make the supply boundary clear
An agreed package can include panel and door schedules, layout drawings, available supplier details and an installation scope list. Confirm which seals, trims and accessories are supplied. Inspection should check the installed joints, door operation and penetrations before refrigeration startup, with remaining site work clearly assigned.
