Seafood Cold Storage - Sri Lanka
Seafood Cold Storage Application
The Sri Lanka project concerned a seafood cold-storage facility with changing refrigeration demand. The system direction combined parallel screw compressors with refrigerant circulation equipment serving the storage application.
Operating Requirements
The customer required a refrigeration arrangement suited to low-temperature storage and varying loads. Capacity control, refrigerant circulation and operating efficiency were selection considerations for the equipment package.
Coordinated Equipment Scope
Mechocool’s work focused on requirement review, equipment configuration, technical communication and interface coordination. The proposed equipment direction connected the compressor arrangement with the refrigerant circulation system and the cold storage duty.
Application and Equipment Scope
- Application: Seafood cold storage
- Location: Sri Lanka
- Compression arrangement: Parallel two-stage screw compressors
- Capacity control approach: Compressor staging and coordinated controls
- Refrigerant supply: Refrigerant circulation equipment
Control and Site Interfaces
Compressor staging, control logic and the connections to the refrigeration system are important coordination points. Installation and startup depend on the site conditions and the responsibilities assigned to the participating teams. The project discussion treated the equipment as a connected system rather than a list of separate components.
Discuss a Similar Storage Project
Share the required room conditions, product loading pattern and anticipated changes in demand. Include any continuity or maintenance requirements so the compressor arrangement and supporting equipment can be considered in the selection discussion.
